Trying Again: A Journey of Love

Creating a family isn't always easy. We had years of unexplained infertility, went through fertility treatments, had a beautiful daughter, conceived naturally, had an early miscarriage, conceived naturally again, had a second trimester miscarriage, conceived naturally again only to lose the baby at 9 weeks. We moved on to fertility treatments again and got pregnant but miscarried due to a blighted ovum. Pregnant again with fertility treatments and blessed with our rainbow baby boy in May 2012.

Back From Vacation & Ovulation

We are home from a wonderful beach vacation. It was so nice to unwind and relax as a family. My girl is a total beach bum. She could have easily spent all day, every day at the beach. I'm sure she gets that from me. The beach is my favorite place on earth.

She especially loved building sandcastles!

I took 100mg Clomid while we were on vacation and started taking OPK's. I had positive OPK's for 3 days this week, and based on pains, I'm pretty sure I ovulated overnight Tuesday into Wednesday, even though fertility friend gave me ovulation crosshairs for Monday, I know I didn't ovulate until at least Tuesday. Our BD timing should be great, so we just wait and see. The night before I went to another NKOTBSB concert - I seem to ovulate right after each of their concerts I've seen. I had to joke with my husband about the boybanders making my eggs pop.

I wouldn't be a very good TTC blogger if I didn't include a photo of my OPK's, now would I ;)

My RE wanted to do an ultrasound to check my follies at 12DPO, but I was out of town on vacation and wouldn't be back until 14DPO, so no trigger shot this month. We just did Clomid and are trying on our own. Ready for testing to begin....

A Short Summary

Had our first daughter in 2008 after 8 years TTC. Clomid/HCG Trigger shot/IUI. Diagnosis: Irregular ovulation, possible PCOS.
Got pregnant and lost the baby in January 2010, no fertility treatment. Ended quickly as a chemical pregnancy.
Got pregnant the following cycle, in March 2010, no fertility treatment. All seemed to be going well until we got a 1 in 10 chance for Down syndrome with the quad screen. At an ultrasound at 17 weeks, we found out our son had died in utero. We lost him in July 2010, most likely due to confirmed Down syndrome.
Got pregnant again without fertility treatment in September 2010. Things were going well, great betas, strong heartbeat. Then at 9week5days we found out we lost that baby too. After testing, it was confirmed she was a girl with Turners syndrome.
Lots of testing revealed I have PAI-1 4G/4G with normal levels, a blood clotting disorder. Alone it shouldn't cause any problems, but paired with another blood clotting disorder it could be a problem.
Back to my RE and started Clomid, I got pregnant right away in February 2011. Things didn't look good from the beginning, and in April at around 10 weeks I needed a D&C for a blighted ovum.
We got pregnant again on Clomid/HCG Trigger shot, and added our beautiful son to our family in May 2012.
